And just like that, she turned 5!

On January 17th, this tiny joyful girl turned 5 years old!  We celebrated by having ice cream for breakfast...

...and Famous A's chocolate chip pancakes for dinner! (That is Karlie's "I'm so excited it is almost scary" face :)

The following day, Karlie had planned a dress-up party for the girls in her CC class.  Nina had given her a vet costume for CHirstmas and she was so excited to wear it!

A ballerina, and princess, and a vet excitedly waiting for their friends to arrive

The kids played together for a while and then we had lunch and CAKE!

We tried to get Karlie to take off her vet hat for the pictures, but she was determined to stay in costume :)

Cutest vet ever!

Emma wanted to hold Susanna every chance she got!

Karis enjoyed the cake...

And so did Abbi...

But the part of the party that was most anticipated was the pinata!  Karlie had been asking for one ever since she saw one at a party last summer...

And when it finally broke, there was great excitement and running for the prizes...

Karlie received some very thoughtful gifts from her family and friends:

Karis got pretty excited over some of the art projects also!

While Abbi enjoyed snuggling with Grandma

Sweet Karlie Sue, Oh how we love you!

We pray that you will keep your infectious laughter and boundless energy and use it for God's glory!

Remembering Christmas...

We spent a lot of time traveling this Christmas and were very blessed to be able to see many family members that we do not often see!

We started out by going to my parents' house the Saturday before Christmas. My brother's family had come to visit and we had quite the joyful chaos going on!  I really wish we had taken a picture of all 7 kids together, but we forgot to do so in all the fun.

Then we headed to Mark's parents' house to see his
brother and wife, Rich and Mel!

Susanna was quite excited about trying to eat the packages!

I could look at this sweet smile all day long!

Karlie was pretty excited!

Susanna loves her new walker!

After a weekend of fun with family. we headed home to play with new toys...

Then on Christmas Eve, we had Christmas at our house...

Daddy read the Christmas Story...

And we did stockings and a few presents...

And then we headed back to Nina and Papa's to wake up at their house on Christmas Day!

Karis and Karlie found Daddy's old Lite Brite :)

Karis helped Papa sort through his arrowheads

Some fun presents for my little artist...

Baby girl received the PERFECT present... a teething necklace for me to wear while I have her in the carrier!  It is a sweet wooden bird and she loves it.  She grabbed it and started chewing the moment I put it on :)

 Lots of Christmas morning pictures!

Very happy about their nurse and doctor costume!

Trying to get a video of Susanna starting to crawl... the girls got into trying to get her attention as well :)

And this is how I like to eat breakfast when I actually have time to sit down:

Too much celebrating for this sweet giril...

Then we headed to Grandma and Papa's house after brunch!

The coolest hovering fairy...

Susanna was most excited about the apple in her stocking...

While Abbi gave a tea party to the Nativity People...

And Karis was so excited about her new sewing machine!

Back home for an evening to try out our new trampoline...

And build with new legos...

Then back on the road again to KY to see our cousins!

So much fun in just one week!
