My girls have been talking about doing a ballet class for a while now, but with three of them and most classes costing from 15-30 dollars a child, we just couldn't afford it. But we recently found out about a center nearby that offers all kinds of classes for homeschoolers and others for only $5 a child! And they just happen to offer a little ballet class that all my girls can attend at the same time! So we decided to try it out this week and the girls had a blast!
We were lucky enough to already have pretty ballet outfits in our dress-up bin that my cousin and Mom had given the girls. They were so excited they wore their outfit all day even though the class wasn't until 5pm!
It was really interesting to watch how all three girls handle new situations... their personalities really showed! My sweet Karis is all smiles here, but the minute we walked into class, her face turned completely stoic and she didn't smile for half the class. If you didn't know her better, you would have thought that she hated it, but it was just he way of dealing with feeling shy. About halfway through the class, she stared smiling and interacting more and showing how much she enjoyed it. And her first words after class were, "Can we PLEASE come back next week?!!"
My outgoing Karlie Sue, however, was in her elements from the minute that we walked in the door. She was grinning from ear to ear and answering questions and bouncing with excitement!
Here is a funny video that shows her excitement. At first she is behind Lindsay, but soon spins out and just keeps twirling and twirling and twirling, even when everyone else has stopped, until she can no longer stand up. It cracks me up every time I watch it!
Abbi Grace was a little hesitant at first, but quickly jumped right in and started copying the instructor.
Our friend Lindsay is here to help with the girls this week, and she braided their hair so they would look like real ballerinas. They girls were pretty excited about their braids!
Daddy had to join the class for the first few minutes because Karis and Abbi were so shy :)
Then Lindsay rescued him and went to help the girls :)
It was really funny because Karis stuck very close to Karlie for the first part of cless... I thought for sure they were going to hit each other!
While Abbi moved down to be with our neighbor-friend, Isabella (in the hot pink skirt).
Abbi trying so hard to copy the teacher:
I know this picture is fuzzy, but I loved the smile on her face as she danced with her wand
Happy girls all begging to go back next week!
