10 Weeks old!

 
To celebrate, we finally broke down and bought Karis a mobile. No, actually it was because we saw how fascinated she was with the fan in our bedroom and thought she would enjoy it:) And she does!

Our friend, Carla, is from Nicaragua and when she went to visit shebrought us back several of these baby shirts. They are super lightweight and cool and the embroidery is just precious. Thank you, Carla.

Karis meets G & C

Ou friends Gavin and Casey came down to visit us this week and to meet Karis! She was quite content to just chill in Gavin's arms for a while. We had a great time seeing them again!

Karis is constantly amazing me with the amount of bubbles she can blow. Its so cute, but a little messy :)

Big enough for a Bumbo!

 
Karis is 9 weeks old today and her head control is getting really good. In fact, so good that when Nina and Papa were here, they thought that she needed a Bumbo seat! Now she can sit all by herself, although sometimes she looks a little confused as to why she is indeed sitting without Mama's help! She can only do it for short periods of time before she gets too tired of sitting up, but she seems to enjoy it for that time. And she is very excited that her Bumbo is purple :)

 

What a miserable morning!

 
Today Karis had her 2 month check-up........and vaccinations. It was utterly miserable. My baby is usually so sweet natured, but she started screaming even before the tops were off the shots because she didn't like the nurse holding her legs down. As we all know, she always wants to be able to kick! So she was downright mad and scared as well that she couldn't move her legs. My job was to hold her hands and try to soothe her with my voice, which was one of the hardest things I've ever done because she looked at me like, "How could you?" "Can't you make it stop?" And when she is really upset, she screams and it sounds like "Maaa, maaa! Maaaaa, maaaa!" So it really sounds like she is begging me to help her, which of course, I couldn't, and was even partner to the crime. So I definitely felt like the meanest person ever and begged her to forgive me afterwards. But I know that it was for her own good, so I had to do it. But I must admit it brought tears to my eyes... On a happier note, the doctor said that she is perfectly healthy in every way. She now weighs 11 pounds, 7 ounces and is 23.5 inches long. So she is normal concerning weight and still at the top of the charts for height. Which is no surprise to anyone :) I do also really like my doctor. She has a 4-month baby of her own, which is nice because she has just been through everything that we are going through now. So I really feel like I can ask her any questions and she knows exactly whats going on. Plus, she's nice :) So that made the visit a little better.

2 months old today!!!!!!

Karis is now 2 months old. So hard to believe. Here is the 2nd of a monthly rocking chair photo shoot. And she definitely has grown! But best of all, in this last month she has really developed a contagious smile. It doesn't take much to cause it to appear, and boy is it the most wonderful thing in the world!!!
