Sunday afternoon nap

Karis went to church for the first timed today at six days old! She did really well, although she had the hiccoughs the first half of the service :) And although she slept through the rest of the service, it seemed she still needed the Sunday afternoon nap :)

Karis's first time outside!

The first time Karis ever went outside while awake, we found a hot air ballon coming across our backyard and landing in our next door neighbor's backyard! It was humongous, but I don't think Karis was as impressed as her parents. She just wanted to cuddle with Mama :)

Jack and Karis

Cousin Jack came to visit and fell in love with Baby Karis. He held her several time during their visit (with a little help from Dadddy, of course :)

All smiles

I have decided that Mark never smiles as big in pictures as when he is holding his new daughter :)

"We don't want to leave"

After staying with us to help all week, Mom and Dad had a hard time saying bye to their adorable new granddaughter.

The Cutest Bunny Ever

I have to say this is one of my favorite pictures ever. I think she liked her pretty pink hooded towel and Mark somehow managed to catch her smile.

Now we can see her eyes!

After drying her off and cuddling, Karis was much happier

Sleeping through her first bath

Karis got her first sponge bath today, but she hardly knew it. She didn't wake up until we washed her hair, which she didn't appreciate at all :)

Daddy taking charge

Daddy was very concerned that we gave Karis her first bath correctly, so he read the chapter in one of my baby books about how to do it right and then developed a plan of action! He did a great job :)

What a face!

We couldn't help but laught at the horrible face she made when she woke up and was wanting to eat. We were going to give her a bath, but after this face and the tears that followed, we decided to wait til she had lunch :)

Swaddle Me Tight!

We have found that Karis will not sleep by herself unless swaddled extremely tightly, but every now and then she manages t o squeeze out an arm:)

Pretty Lady

After going to the pediatrician for the first time, Karis was absolutely exhausted. But doctor said she looked great!

Our rose tree bloomed just in time for the celebration of Karis' birth.

Finally Home

We finally made it home around 3:30 on Thursday. It was my privilege to carry my girl into her new home. I must say the introduction to a new enviornment I gave Karis was much easier than the one my wife gave her.

What a big yawn!

sacked out

After two exhausting days, we were finally home and all we could do was curl up on the couch. But what bliss. There is nothing better in the world than cuddling with my baby.

Going home!

Karis had her first ride in her carseat today when we left the hospital. She didn't even know it, though, because she slept the whole way :)
